After many years of being asked to attend, the
landscaping team made room in their busy diary to design and build a small
contemporary show garden. “The Inner Circle” garden was centred around a
Portland slate monolith set into a crazy paved circle of natural sandstone
flagstones. Rings of structural lavender & grasses were planted to
emphasize the circular theme which was finally framed by a sweeping decked
terrace. A swinging bench, suspended from a large centre
corner, fan pergola provided a comfortable seating area to relax and enjoy
this contemporary courtyard garden. A feature sampled and enjoyed by many
visitors to the show, especially a couple from west Suffolk who purchased
the complete garden for re-construction in their own garden. The judging panel also appreciated the simple design,
awarding the garden a silver guilt medal. Lets hope for a gold medal next
time.
