Association of Professional Landscapers

The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) is a UK wide group of expert landscapers dedicated to enhancing gardens and open spaces. Members of the APL can design, construct and maintain gardens to the highest standard, no matter how big or small they are. By using an APL member you can be confident that you will enjoy the garden of your dreams at the end of the project. Each of our members undergoes a rigorous inspection programme to verify the quality of their work and have to adhere to strict procedures. Many of our members are award-winning companies. This ensures that by using an APL member you can be confident you will get the garden of your dreams constructed in a truly professional manner.

Customer Charter

Members of the Association of Professional Landscapers are all registered with the government endorsed TRUSTMARK SCHEME and must conform to the following criteria:

Members must be:

• Properly trained and qualified in landscaping
• Employed within the industry for a minimum of three years
• Members of the Horticultural Trades Association – the trade body of the garden industry, established in 1899

Members must also:

• Provide a minimum of six satisfactory customer references of work carried out within the previous two years
• Provide a minimum of two satisfactory trade references
• Maintain full Employer Liability Insurance cover
• Maintain full Public Liability Insurance Cover
• Follow the stipulated complaints resolution procedure
• Offer all customers an independently backed warranty

The Association demands that members:

• Be committed to continuous business development
• Be actively involved in staff training and development
• Be independently checked annually for conformance to these standards
